SAPURAKENCANA PETROLEUM BERHAD SUCCESSFULLY SIGNS USD1.5 BILLION FINANCING FACILITIES WITH CONSORTIUM OF DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad (“SKPB”) through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SapuraKencana TMC Sdn Bhd (“SKTMC”), has successfully completed the signing of a 7-year multi-currency financing facilities of approximately USD1.5 billion equivalent with a consortium of Malaysian, regional and international banks. The proceeds raised from this facility shall be utilised to partially refinance SKTMC’s existing borrowings.

The refinancing involves raising approximately USD658.0 million via a new Conventional Term Loan facility and issuance of approximately RM3.6 billion of unrated Sukuk under the existing 30-year Multi-Currency Sukuk Programme of up to RM7.0 billion in nominal value. The refinancing exercise is part of the Group’s proactive capital management initiative that will support its global operations.
